For a girl

And it's not mine. Don't freak out mum. Max set the task of sewing something, um, pretty, for Little Sister Week and it had me in a spin. What do I sew for a girl? Do I have a girl style? Would there be pink? Am I the frilly type? But more importantly, who was I going to sew for? As you can probably tell, babes of the girly variety are in short supply around these parts. And the extended family isn't much help either. So I decided to make something purty for Max's little girl, Edison..a whimsical frock based on one of my fav boy patterns...can you guess which one? Find out here!

  1. Sophie, I have been following your blog for ages, nearly a year and I love all that you do, I have two small boys too and live in Brisbane, Australia and LOVE to sew, thinking of blogging but have been wrapped up with other family issues for awhile now, starting to slow down, so 'watch this space'. I love this dress you have made, and I, like you, have little need for girls clothes, however I am in love with the skirt fabric, you have used this before - where, oh where did you get it? What is it called? Can I still get some?? Thanks, I will keep watching your creativity avidly, you are very inspiring!

    1. Thanks so much Darby,I got this one from Etsy a year or two ago and I think it's called Carnival by Kokka Trefle. I just had a look on Etsy and there's a couple of people still selling it. I'm wishing I bought more at the time because it is so lovely. So here's one listing...http://www.etsy.com/listing/85563747/kokka-trefle-japanese-fabric-county-fair?ref=sr_gallery_7&ga_search_query=kokka+carnival&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_search_type=supplies&ga_facet=supplieskokka+carnival
